About

The Guernsey Cambridge Society is the official Regional Society for Cambridge alumni who live, work or socialise in Guernsey.

Founded as a branch of the Alumni Society in Cambridge in 1985, the organisation grew and thrived under its first Chairman – Ernest Shanks, CBE, QC of Les Bliicqs, the former Deputy Bailiff of Guernsey.

We currently have over 60 members residing in Guernsey.

The Society’s events cover the areas of culture, history, world affairs, sciences, sport and socialising. We host an annual Christmas Dinner, Summer Garden Party and talks by prominent members and friends of the University of Cambridge.

Our goal is to stay connected with our membership and the wider alumni network. We aim to raise awareness of the values of Cambridge University in Guernsey, introduce our friendly and welcoming island to other alumni societies around the globe and simply have a jolly good time at our events.
